“The Healthy Kids programme was a huge success at Hightown. The children were completely engaged in each session and thoroughly enjoyed each activity. Their levels of knowledge and understanding in relation to living a healthy lifestyle increased enormously over the course of the ten weeks. Each member of the Sprint Start team developed an excellent rapport with the children and it was through this strong relationship that they were able to support the children to achieve their goals.”

Our Approach
Sprint-Start has developed a hugely successful 10 week programme combining physical exercise and cooking workshops for children aged 7-10 years old. The programme called “Healthy Kids” has been run at a number of schools in the Southampton area and helps improve the understanding and importance of a healthy lifestyle, through the workshops that are held every week.

The programme introduces new skills and builds confidence to use these skills in every day life, whether it be playing sport at a local club or helping prepare dinner! Sprint-Start places a high priority on long term participation and development and provides information on the best ways to continue activities and links to clubs at the end of the 10 weeks.

We are always looking to develop and improve the services we can offer. The Sprint-Start Sports Foundation is an example of this. We will be expanding our services through the foundation to work with a larger number of children and young people in the Hampshire & IOW region. For more information, please click on the link
